Platelet rich plasma (PRP) has been used for many years in human medicine with astounding results. Many of today’s top athletes have been treated with PRP for various sports-related injuries. PRP has now made its way into veterinary medicine and is providing an alternative therapy for thousands of animals. PRP utilizes the platelet’s growth factors which are proteins that promote tissue healing and regeneration in acute and chronic conditions. Some of these conditions include osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, and certain spinal conditions. In this webinar, Dr. Sherman Canapp, provides insight into the science behind PRP and how it can be used in the veterinary clinic.
